Mastering Workshop with Christoph Albertijn

An introduction to the history, principles and terminology of audio mastering. Participants will set up their own mastering session and explore a range of open-source tools and plugins. Through guided listening, analysis and discussion, the workshop will examine different mastering approaches and techniques.

Introduction: history and aesthetics / How to prepare, master and deliver the files /
Audio levels ( loudness ) and standards (examples) / Terminology and conventions / Differences between different formats ( Analog vs Digital, streaming etc ) / CD &LP delivery

A basic familiarity with audio software and plugins is required. All practical work will be carried out using accessible open-source software and plugins (we’ll send you the links for the plug-ins)
